Blue Mountain is a small rural school dedicated to the recognition of the unique value of each student. Although our school has been a part of the Maple Ridge Community sinse the early 1960′s, we have occupied our building for nearly 9 years.

We are situated on 248th Street, next to Garibaldi Secondary School on a wide-open piece of preperty, perfect for all of our outdoor activities. Our school site consists of 8 classrooms, a Strong Start Program for children age 0 to 5 years and thier cargivers, Little Saints Day Care, a bright beautiful library, and updated computer, a large well equipped gym, and two rooms for our Support Programs for special needs children.

We have 36 outdoor garden beds, used by the community,  the high school culinary arts program, our Strong Start children, our Daycare children and children in each of our 8 classrooms. We practice “Seed to Plate” so that children study growth from preparing the beds, to harvesting, to cooking and eating the delicious garden produce!

The teachers and staff are committed to providing each student with an excellent, well-rounded education experience. As we strive to achieve our goals, we will have assisted in the process of helping sutdents become good citizens, able to adapt to and contribute to our society. It is the desire of Blue Mountain Elementary School to partner with familites to ensure the best possible education program for every student. A caring and involved Parent Advisory Council (PAC) supports our staff and students. Their generous contribution of time and money ensure the latest resources are available and that all students have access to field-trips.
