Grade 6/7 Cyber School opportunity for 2012/2013!

The world is changing, and school is too. In the new school year we will be offering a unique learning environment for our Grade 6/7 students. Cyber School is a model that allows students to learn at home and at school. Students will learn about and use collaborative online learning tools to interact with each other while at home. The Cyber School model has students attend school three days a week and work from home two days a week. While at home they will be able to get teacher help online. This is a new program at Fairview which requires a commitment from parents to stay in the program for the school year. Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the Fairview Elementary website! I’m happy to welcome all of our families to Fairview for the new school year. I’m sure you will find Fairview a supportive ‘home away from home’. Our Code of Conduct, motto, and mission statement put children, character, and learning in the forefront. We want our school to be a place where students feel safe and valued, and where they are encouraged to do and be their best.
Effective communication between home and school plays an important role in the educational progress of students, and parents are encouraged to become active partners in this process. With your help, we look forward to making this a very successful school year for all. More information about the school can be found in your child’s planner or in the School Information link above.

I’m looking forward to the new school year and working with all of you.

Mrs. Astrid Kirves, Principal
