July 1st Deadline : UBC’s First-Year Orientation Programs: UBC offers first-year orientation and transition programs that allow students to move in early, get to know campus, and build connections before the academic term begins. For eligiblity and program information on the Vancouver campus, visit https://students.ubc.ca/new-to-ubc/orientations/jump-start. July 18th: : Douglas College Parent & Supporter Orientation: This orientation is from 5:30 to 8:35 p.m. at their New Westminster campus. They know that college can be just as exciting and nerve wracking for parents as it is for student. Parent and supporter orientation will answer your questions and address your concerns, offer suggestions and strategies on how to encourage and guide your student. Summer UBC Future Global Leaders is a two-week, pre-university program at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Designed for teens ages 15-18, this intensive academic program helps you develop critical skills to succeed in an academic environment, and encourages you to aspire to be a leader in our increasingly global world. You also have a lot of fun. Attend classes taught by UBC professors and instructors, develop your intercultural communication and leadership skills, and participate in social and cultural activities with other students from a wide range of backgrounds, countries, and cultures. For summer 2017, choose from seventeen two-week academic courses. Opt to stay in a UBC campus residence, or commute to campus daily. Summer Jazz Intensive at Douglas College: For students 14 years and up who have had at least 3 years of playing experience. This program runs the third week of August.
