PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
My apologies that I did not get this week’s newsletter out yesterday.
Well we have had yet another very busy week here at Webster’s Corners. On Monday we had our monthly assembly where we recognized all of our students who had received a ROAR through the month of April, please see the list at the end of this newsletter. Also during the assembly we finally gave away the jar of jellybeans that had been part of the wonderful “Look and Find” display located in our display case. Congratulations went to Harling who guessed 176 and the actual amount was 179. On Monday all the spring plant orders also arrived. Please note that we do have some extras. If you need a few beautiful flowers to fill in some holes in your garden please ensure that you stop on in at the office.
On Tuesday and Wednesday our public speaking representatives: Faith, Carly, Cristina and Dawson participated in the District Public Speaking Competition. Way to go guys for we know you all did well!
Yesterday many of our classrooms participated in the “Move for Health Day.” Throughout the day students participated in a variety of healthy activities and for recess they enjoyed cucumbers and clementines. In the afternoon, our Grade 6/7 class was even fortunate enough to be able to participate in the special “Move for Health Day” event that was organized at the new Webster’s Corners Park located next door.
This morning it was great to see so many families members come and join us for Muffins for Mom. A huge thank you to our PAC for sponsoring this wonderful event. Please ensure that you mark your calendar for Friday, June 15th when we will be hosting a special breakfast in honour of Father’s Day.
A reminder that Monday is the deadline for all spirit wear orders. If you have not had the opportunity to check out what is available please ensure that you stop on by after school on Monday. All proceeds from this fundraiser are going to our Grade 7s for their year end celebrations.
Word has it that the sun is going to shine this weekend so please enjoy! Have a great weekend!
Mrs. T. Dailey
